Story of Svitlana and Yelyzaveta

He met Maryna in February 2019 while serving in "Azov". The woman had two daughters - thirteen-year-old Svitlana and ten-year-old Yelyzaveta.

Mykola became the best dad for them. He took on all parental responsibilities and raised the girls together with his wife. And he received recognition and sincere love from Svitlana and Yelyzaveta, like their birth father. At the beginning of the war, the girl's mother was called to defend the country as part of the "Azov" regiment. She was sent to perform a combat mission in Mariupol. There, Maryna got into the epicenter of hostilities – at Azovstal. Unfortunately, Maryna did not come back from Mariupol – the woman was killed in action on May 8, 2022.

The loss of a loving mother was a real shock and grief for the girls. They could not believe that it really happened and did not understand how to live. It seemed that their world had been destroyed. They went into their shell and had a hard time experiencing grief.

Mykola and the girls initially lived in Berdiansk. But the man realized that Svitlana and Yelyzaveta could be in danger and decided to take them to relatives in the village and then to Zaporizhzhia.

All this time, Mykola is trying to support the girls in every way and help them get through the pain of losing the dearest person in their lives. The man also realized that there could be no other solution than establishing official custody of Yelyzaveta and Svitlana because the girls had become dear to him during this time.

Now, Mykola is the official guardian of the girls. He tries to provide them with everything they need, but most importantly, he loves them very much and helps them overcome the death of their mother. Despite his care and support, the girls still can't recover from their grief. They miss their mother so much and are in a severe psychological condition.
